I'm curious (and maybe I should read up) but supposedly the Z5 sensor isn't BSI so I'm wondering what the impact or difference is, compared to, say the Z6 sensor. To Nikon's credit it's also better than the D750 for higher ISOs. Nikon's entry-level Z-mount full-framer is proving to be a fun and capable companion for everyday stills photography. LOL, the Sony screw drive adapter is only 27g more than the FTZ adapter. With the release of the budget-friendly Nikon Z5 full-frame camera, we now have a number of different options to choose from in the Nikon mirrorless line-up. See below for a couple of quick comparison crops from the Nikon Z5 against a popular 24MP competitor, the Sony A7 III. Some things sell better in the US but fail miserably overseas, and vice-versa (generally speaking here) so only looking at one region doesn't tell you much other than what's popular in that region. He primarily works with a Nikon 20mm F3.5 lens and leans into its unique characteristics brilliantly, producing beautiful and haunting images. The new Nikon Z5 changes that. What about 1080/60P video? Nikon D750 vs Z5. I'm not sure how many people won't move to mirrorless due to that, but Nikon did say they planned to continue supporting DSLRs unlike some other companies. They would be happy for buyers to spend as much money as they can on marginal performance benefits or features that will make little or no difference to the making of a nice image. So the FTZ only makes it like a DSLR. Combining a 37MP full-frame sensor, minimalist controls and Lightroom Mobile built in, it's a refreshing – if a bit quirky – take on the smartphone-meets-camera concept. The bulge on that Sony adapter is quite a bit bigger. It sits between the Z50 which is $850 and lacks a few features (like dual card slots, and IBIS) but slightly below a Z6 (which has a few features or better specs than the Z5 such as a BSI sensor which may or may not matter to many people). Lack of good glass? This new Nikon Z5 is now available for pre-order at Amazon, B&H, Adorama for $1,396.95. I regularly use 1-2 AFS lenses with the FTZ and Z7 without issue. Our Verdict.
